| Consumers reaching broadband usage limits survey finds - Friday 24 October 2008 | | Print | |

A survey has found that a million UK consumers have come close to their broadband usage limit, or have actually exceeded it. And 80% of UK broadband customers either believed, incorrectly, that their broadband package was an unlimited one, or they didn't know their broadband usage allowance or limit. The survey - by Uswitch - found that 56% of broadband providers with unlimited broadband packages available had some sort of usage cap and were prepared to cut off broadband customers for exceeding that cap. Broadband providers impose usage caps on broadband use to ensure a fair
distribution of broadband use across the month and across customers.
